Snow in Seattle
We had a couple of inches of snow hit Seattle over the last two days. It's very strange coming from Michigan where everyone is prepared for (and fairly competent to drive in) snow. Since they only get 1-2" here a year, there are barely any sand trucks to speak of so the city basically shuts down when the snow comes. People have no clue how to drive in snow here either, and there's hundreds of abandoned cars on the roads and highways when people freaked out yesterday.
I spent today in my apartment, remoting in to work over the Internets. Looks like more icy roads tomorrow. My car handles very poorly in these conditions (low-profile performance tires), but I'm hoping to get in to work tomorrow. We'll see. "Thankfully" I can work from home
